So, you finally are ready to take the plunge. To set up your own online business and cash in like so many other entrepreneurs have.
Your excited, your heart pounds with anticipation as you start setting up your site and marketing strategy. Then it hits you – “Hey, this is not as easy as the Gurus said it would be”.
The money is in the list right? So, you just have to grow a list. How hard could that be? There are a TON of folks online. All you need is just a small fraction of a percentage, and you could have it made!
Why then is it taking so long? Where have you gone wrong? How come no one is ordering?
I know how you feel. Been there, done that. However, I must say that when I came online full time back in 1997, it was a LOT easier to do business on the web. There was not as much competition. Still, I remember working all night long on my sites. I would be working when my wife went to bed, and I was still at the ol PC when she got up to go to work! But, I was unemployed and I needed to get something up and running FAST!
Maybe you are in that same situation now? Maybe you have lost a job or income stream, and you need to replace it quickly. Yes, there are some Real online jobs, but if you want to make a living from your own business you are going to have to get serious about it.
Does that mean it is impossible? NO! You can do it, but it probably won’t come as easy as you may have been led to believe.
You have to get the word out about your biz obviously, but how do you do that without spending a fortune? In my opinion, you need to do several things. Here are just a few:
Pay Per Click Ads (Google etc)
Article Writing (hey – you must be an expert on your biz or area of interest right? Write about it and submit articles to the article directories)
Context Advertising (blogs etc)
Blogging (set up your own blog on Google’s Blogspot)
Don’t forget offline strategies. Tie those in with online tools and you create a synergy that can really work well. Do your home work. If you have read this far, great! That tells me you are serious about your biz.
Above all, keep learning. Keep doing the things that help grow your list and income, and drop the things that are not. Spend your time on things that are successful. Budget your time. The web can eat you alive if you don’t!
